The Most Successful People on Youtube – My Personal Image Design Heroes
The main purpose of this post is to share my experience following some of best personalities on youtube, and to say a big thanks for their effort making videos. They are great entertainment and really exciting to watch online not just as a regular youtuber but from an image consultant point of view.
Some of the biggest and most successful youtube channels are like personal little TV channels. They often have a mindblowing number of subscribers and getting millions of views in a few days after a new video is posted. Commercial TV networks in small countries could envy that kind of audience.
There are a couple of youtube channels I follow on a regular basis. I almost completely phased out TV and prefer to watch stuff I handpick to match my taste and interest.
So here are my personal favourites…
Some of the most successful Youtube personalities in no specific order
MARINA ORLOVA (hotforwords) – 400M+ views, 430K+ subscribers
If you are into Russian hotties (who wouldn’t be?) you are going to be addicted to her videos. Marina was at one point (if not still) the most watched female on the internet. She was so popular GoDaddy started sponsoring her. The pretty linguist expert from Moscow blew youtubers minds with her sexy look and cute accent. Believe me, you will get addicted to her videos pretty quick:) This hotforwords episode is my personal favourite.
RAY WILLIAM JOHNSON (raywilliamjohnson) – 710M+ views, 2,6M+ subscribers
Probably the most (regularly) watched guy on youtube so there’s a good chance you already know him. Ray makes a compilation of viral, funny, weird youtube videos 2 times a week and adds his cool comments. Other then break.com I only come to ray’s channel to have a laugh at funny videos. You might say: that doesn’t sound like a big deal. Well maybe not, but the way he systemized his bi-weekly show and made viewers involved is brilliant and unique. And that made his “one man show” incredibly popular. See a good RWY episode here.
CORY WILLIAMS (smpfilms) – 167M+ views, 480K+ subscribers
You might know him as the “mean kitty guy” or “Mr Safety”. He was actually the first channel I subscribed to. He is a really crazy guy with a genuine, honest personality. I find his videos hilarious and really creative. Obviously a pro with the camera which makes his videos look really fun to watch. I couldn’t categorise his videos, there’s no niche you could squeeze him in, but that’s the beauty of it – you never know what to expect next. It’s worth checking out Cory’s youtube story (30min).
I’m not saying these are the only people I follow but definitely the most interesting ones. Cudos and further success to them!
These YOUTUBE personalities did an incredible job estabilishing an online image that lead them to success. They might just started it as a hobby with no idea (or intention) of getting “internet famous” however we all know that the internet has it’s own laws. It’s a place where people get to choose (or make) their own celebrities.
